Don’t lose hope! Litter 2015 is not an impossibility!!!
Last week we went on short, family vacation up in northern Minnesota. Just before we left, I sent the following note to the breeder whose stud should have sired this litter, telling them that it had been about 4 1/2 weeks since Nikki was bred to Aristan, but that we were still not seeing any kind of “baby bump.” “Her tummy is about as flat as it always is,” I wrote with sad resignation. “It looks to me as though she is not pregnant.”
No sooner had I emailed the note, than I again checked Nikki’s belly and was surprised to find that it felt a little tight. But it was hard to tell if it was just wishful thinking or if I was actually feeling a baby bump. So, we left on our five day trip, leaving our pets in the care of the neighbors.
When we got back from our trip, we were met by a little, white dog with a big, tight belly!
Of course, we aren’t positive, but I’m pretty sure Nikki is “in the family way!” Either that or she ate an awful lot while we were gone! 🙂
I’ll post some pictures of Nikki soon so you can see for yourselves!! Stay tuned!
